An Introduction to Who We Are!

Our Mission

YokaiTech is here to make people’s lives better by developing helpful services as well as empower students who have a passion to help people overcome society’s various life obstacles.

But who are we? What is YokaiTech?

At YokaiTech, we realize that navigating through life can be difficult, whether you’re struggling with overcoming the obstacles of your academic life or your personal life. In these increasingly digital times, we envision a world where we can use technology to create a positive impact and help people get over the many hurdles of life. YokaiTech is a student-led organization with talented and determined high schoolers from all over New York City. We are a team of web developers, literary writers, graphic designers, and social media managers working to create and spread our services, valuing innovation, collaboration, and dedication to making the world we envision a reality. 

What we’re currently working on 

YokaiTech’s first projects will be coding a college information website and creating a platform for virtual learning.

Our College Helper

To all high school juniors, seniors, and ambitious freshmen and sophomores! Are you looking for the perfect colleges to apply to? 

You might be considering size, location, majors, housing, atmosphere, and/or cost. You might be overwhelmed trying to choose from the thousands of colleges in the world. Well, if so, YokaiTech’s College Helper is here to aid you in deciding where to apply! 

Our College Helper takes many factors into consideration. Talk to people with opinions you trust, make an ideal wishlist, get advice, and go to college fairs to get a good idea on the characteristics of your dream school. Once you’ve got that down, our website will match you to your ideal school. Though you may be tempted to call your match schools your ‘perfect college,’ the truth is that there is no perfect college. Your college search journey should be about exploring yourself and finding a college that will meet your goals, interests, and future career paths best. Best of luck from the YokaiTech team!

Our E-Learning Platform

YokaiTech has begun work on our e-learning platform project and the team had their first meeting early this month to discuss logistics about how they plan on collaborating and developing the platform! 

The team will be using Trello, as a tool to manage task assignments and find helpful team resources as well as Github, a collaborative platform for software development. Tasks will be assigned based on features that each team member wants to implement in the learning platform.   

Information on Courses and Lessons 

     The homepage will have links to a course page with lessons which will consist of examples and explanations. With many coding-help resources out there costing money or having long application processes, we have opted to dedicate the beginning stages of developing this helpful platform to creating coding content, and will eventually expand our course selection.
